Suzuki Burgman, Gixxer, Access helps company achieve 40 lakh production

Suzuki Motorcycle India has rolled out its four millionth two wheeler from its plant at Gurugram, Haryana. The production milestone is in tandem with SMIPL’s goal of one million volume sales by 2020. This will also help the auto major to double its market share in India.

Suzuki Motorcycle India boasts of a 16 product portfolio currently. Its 125cc scooters and 150cc motorcycles include Access 125 and Burgman Street, and Gixxer series and Intruder. There’s also the big bikes club with Hayabusa, GSX-R1000R, GSX-S750, V-Strom 650XT and RM-Z series.

Suzuki Motorcycle India exports bikes to over 30 countries. SMIPL has achieved its four million bikes landmark in 12 years of operations in India, beginning in 2006. Nationwide, the company operates 521 dealerships, and is one of the fastest growing two-wheeler companies here.

For November 2018, Suzuki Motorcycle India reported 24.19 percent growth in domestic sales at 53,058 units, up from 42,722 units sold in November 2017. The company is confident of sustained double digit growth and looks to hit a sales target of 7.5 lakh units in FY18-19.

Suzuki Motorcycle India total sales (domestic + exports) stood at of 56,531 units in November up 13.86 percent from 49,647 units sold in November 2017. Exports for the month stood at 3,473 units, down from 6,935 units at 50 percent sales decline. Suzuki Motorcycle India reports 4,93,329 units sold through April – November 2018.
