Suzuki Ciaz RS variant is a sportier looking sedan than the regular offering, and is currently being shown at the ongoing 2016 Bangkok Motor show.
Suzuki Ciaz RS helps expand the successful Ciaz sedan lineup. In India, it is available with the top end Ciaz ZXi+ and ZDi+. Launched in India in Q4 of 2015, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has been improving market share as it takes on segment topper Honda City. In India, Suzuki Ciaz sales stand at an average of 4-5k per month. Price in India starts from INR 9.20 lakh, while that in Thailand starts from 675,000 Baht.
No doubt new Suzuki Ciaz RS is an effort to attract buyers. The attraction is wholly cosmetic, and upgrades bypass the engine unit. Suzuki Ciaz RS features a boot-lid mounted spoiler, front bumper mounted lip, and side skirts. Interiors sport an all black look matched with brushed silver finish on the instrument cluster to up its premium appeal.
Suzuki Ciaz RS makes for a stylish and distinctive sedan offering. For India-spec Ciaz, power comes from a 1.4 litre petrol engine that generates 95 PS at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm at 4,000 rpm mated to a five-speed gearbox. A diesel engine option is also on offer in the form of 1.3 liter DDiS 200 which is rated at 90 PS and 200 Nm.
For Thailand, Ciaz is offered only with a petrol engine option. This is in the form of 1.2 liter K12B 4 cylinder engine which is rated at 91 hp and 118 Nm. Transmission is taken care by a CVT gearbox.
