Suzuki Motorcycle India has released the first ever teaser video of their new motorcycle, which is set for launch on 20th May 2019. Titled ‘Dawn of Greatness’, the new teaser video does not reveal the bike in detail, but it surely gives one an idea of what it will look like from the front.

2019 Suzuki Gixxer 250 SF is a fully faired motorcycle. Powered by a 250 cc single cylinder engine, it will be positioned as a sports tourer. It is not the same bike which is on sale in the international market as the GSX-250R. That one is also powered by a 250 cc engine, but is a twin cylinder motor, which delivers 25 PS power and 23.5 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed gearbox.

Indian Gixxer 250 will deliver more power than the twin cylinder Suzuki 250 on sale outside India. It will also get a different exhaust. Below is the teaser video which gives an idea of how the Indian 250cc Gixxer will sound.

Suzuki Gixxer 250 in India is powered by an all new 250 cc single cylinder, SOHC, liquid cooled engine, which will make its global debut with the said bike. It will deliver 26.5 PS at 9k rpm and 22.6 Nm @ 7500 rpm. Transmission is a six speed gearbox. Top speed is rated at 140+ kmph. It will get disc brakes on both ends and dual ABS will be offered as standard. Suspension will be via telescopic forks in the front and monoshock absorbers at the rear.

It will gain sporty accents such as clip on handlebars, rear set foot pegs, a long seat for a more relaxed rider position and 110/70 front and 150/60 rear rubber. Alloys are 17 inch. Feature wise, the Suzuki Gixxer 250 will get a fully digital instrument cluster, which is borrowed from Gixxer 150, but is updated to deliver more details, including navigation. It also gets all LED headlamps with LED DRLs and LED turn indicators.

Suzuki Gixxer GSX 250R is expected to be priced in the Rs 1.8 lakhs, ex-sh range. Unofficial bookings have commenced at Rs 10k. It will rival the likes of the Yamaha Fazer 25, Honda CBR 250R, KTM RC200, Bajaj Pulsar 200 RS, etc.

Along with the GSX250R, the company is also planning to update the Gixxer SF 155 model, with some design changes and feature updates. This new Gixxer 155 will most likely launch on the same date as Gixxer SF 250. It will get redesigned fairing, just like the Gixxer 250. The engine will be the same 154cc single cylinder, air cooled engine, offering 15 bhp power and 14 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox.
