Suzuki’s flagship naked street bike in the commuter segment, Gixxer is receiving a cosmetic upgrade. First launched in September 2014, Gixxer was available in a choice of five single tone colours – Pearl Mirage White, Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Oort Grey, Candy Antares Red, and Metallic Triton Blue.
Now, Suzuki has launched the Gixxer in a dual colour option. As seen on the image above, which is of red and white shade, the tank, headlight unit, and underseat parts remain in the original single tone shade, while the front wheel mudguard, pillion grab bar and small plastic fairing with ‘GIXXER’ sticker, are in white colour.
Apart from this, there are no other changes. Engine remains unchanged with 155 cc single cylinder petrol generating 14.8 PS max power at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14 Nm at 6,000 rpm. Price of this new variant is Rs 1,500 more than current Suzuki Gixxer, which was launched at 83,439 ex-showroom, New Delhi.
With the launch of new Gixxer colour variant, Suzuki accpets to bring more customers to the brand. Just last month they launched fully faired variant of Gixxer, called Gixxer SF. With the new Gixxer units on offer, Suzuki Motorcycles India aims to generate additional sales of 1 lakh units per annum.
In the month of April 2015, Suzuki Motorcycles registered sales of 27,320 units. This is an increase of 1% as compared to sales made in April 2015. New launches for later in 2015 include, 2016 GSX S1000 and S1000F by June 2015.
