Responding to customer feedback, Suzuki Motorcycles India has introduced a skid plate for the Suzuki Gixxer naked bike. The silver colored accessory which is priced at INR 1,600 would protect the exhaust downtube and the crank case from getting scratched when the suspension compresses over poor roads or speed breakers.
The new accessory fits in neatly and effectively seals off vulnerable underbelly parts form coming in direct contact with the earth. The Gixxer and its fuly faired twin Gixxer SF have been bringing impressive sales volume to the table and hence responding promptly to customer feedback goes a long way in keeping them content.
In a bid to capitalize on the strong brand value that the Gixxer twins have managed to build in India, the Japanese two wheeler maker is working on rear-disc variants of the motorcycles. A new Gixxer 250 fully faired quarter litre sportsbike is also on the anvil and is expected to be unveiled at the Auto Expo in February 2016.
Coming back to the Gixxer, the 155 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox to produce 14.6 PS and 14 Nm of torque. The motorcycle is equipped with telescopic front fork and rear monoshock.
The Suzuki Gixxer competes with the Yamaha FZ series and the newly launched Honda Hornet 160 R.
