Gixxer SF 250 marks the re-entry of Suzuki into the 250cc segment of motorcycles in India. It was the Inazuma 250 street fighter, which was the company’s first motorcycle in the 250 cc segment. But was discontinued due to low sales as it came with a high price.

But unlike the Inazuma 250, the Gixxer SF 250 is made in India, and thus comes with a high amount of localization. It will be launched on 20th May, at an aggressive price tag to take on the Yamaha Fazer 25.

The new Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 brochure has been leaked ahead of launch on 20th May at the Buddh International Circuit. Production has commenced, and initial examples have made their way to company dealerships across the country.

For now, the engine is BS4 compliant, but will be updated to meet BS6 norms before April 2020. Braking is via single disc in the front and rear. It will receive dual channel ABS as standard. It will sport traditional forks and monoshock set up at the rear.

Front tyre size is 110/70 while rear tyre size is 150/60. Both get 17 inch alloys, wrapped in tubeless tyres. Dimensions stand at 2010mm in length, 740 mm width, 1035 mm height, 1345 mm wheelbase, 165 mm ground clearance, 800 mm seat height, 161 kg seat height, 12 liters fuel tank.

No prices have been revealed as on date; though estimates put the Gixxer SF 250 in a price range of Rs.1.40-1.50 lakhs. Like Honda’s exclusive Big Wing showrooms, Suzuki is also in the process of redesigning showrooms for the new Gixxer 250 range. The bike will only be on sale via these redesigned showrooms which will be seen in a premium layout.

Each motorcycle in the display area will have a dedicated specification stand. There will be LED TVs installed where brand as well as product videos will be shown and each product will have a dedicated poster board placed right behind the display area.
