Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited launched the new Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 in India at Rs. 1,70,655. It competes against the Honda CBR250R and Yamaha Fazer 250 in the premium quarter litre segment of motorcycles.

Gixxer SF 250 is a fully faired motorcycle, available in a choice of two color options – Matte Metallic Platinum Silver and Matte Metallic Black. It offers a comfortable riding stance and touted as a sports tourer. The accompanying video shows off some of its features especially its new Suzuki Oil Cooling System which offers higher output and lower fuel consumption combined with MotoGP technology.

The 249cc single cylinder, fuel injected engine that powers the Gixxer SF250 has been specially developed according to Indian road conditions. The engine cooling system allows for good performance even in high city traffic conditions. Watch the official video below.

The engine is rated at 26.2 bhp power at 9,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm torque at 7,500 rpm mated to a 6 speed gearbox and chain drive system sending power to the rear wheel. This engine claims fuel efficiency of 38.5 kmpl. Suspension is via conventional telescopic front forks and monoshock at the rear while braking is via disc brakes at both ends with dual channel ABS as a standard features.

On board features include LED head and tail lamps, clip on handle bars, a twin seat layout, rear set foot pegs and an all digital instrument console displaying speedometer, rpm meter, fuel gauge, clock, trip meters and gear position indicator.

Alloy wheels and tubeless tyres will also be standard. Suzuki has also offered a list of accessories for the Gixxer SF 250 which includes tank graphics, wheel rim stickers, seat covers and a smoked visor. It also includes a tank protector and DC power socket. These accessories are optional and can be purchased separately.

Suzuki Gixxer 250 will rival the likes of Honda CBR250R, Yamaha Fazer 250, KTM Duke 250, all of which are available in a similar price range.
