New Suzuki Gixxer 155 packs in a lot more features than its predecessor, which has also increased its price by around Rs 10k. Ex-showroom price in Delhi comes at Rs 100,212. Updates on the new Gixxer 155 extend across visual aspects, design, safety and convenience.
Inspired by European design trends, 2019 Gixxer 155 gets an aggressive body language, one that is sure to turn heads on the streets. The trapezoidal body frame appears to have perfect mathematical proportions and it enhances the bike’s visual appeal.
Fuel tank design has also been updated and it syncs seamlessly with the extended arrow shaped tank shrouds. Headlamp design is now compact and sharper and comes with LED lights. LED headlamp also helps improve safety by providing a longer field of view. Other key features that style up new Gixxer 155 include edgy LED tail lamp, trendy split seat, and sporty dual-muffler.
New Gixxer 155 is powered by a single cylinder, air cooled engine that delivers 14 hp of max power @ 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of max torque @ 6,000 rpm. Engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission. New Gixxer features an advanced Fuel Injection (FI) system that works based on inputs sourced from 6 sensors.
The system improves fuel efficiency and ensures proper throttle response at all speeds. The engine is also covered by SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance), which reduces fuel consumption and ensures superior acceleration.
Thickness of digital instrument cluster has been reduced by 13 mm, which makes it compact without sacrificing any screen space. It gets a white backlit screen that replaces the orange backlit unit used on the outgoing model.
Suspension system comprises large 41 mm telescopic front forks and swing arm mono suspension at the rear. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels wearing 100/80R-17M/C front tubeless tyres and 140/60R-17M/C rear radial tubeless tyres. Both front and rear wheels have disc brakes.
In terms of safety, 2019 Gixxer 155 gets single-channel ABS. Suzuki is also offering a range of accessories such as tank graphics, tank protector, DC socket, knuckle cover, skid plate, bumper bracket and seat cover. The bike will take on rivals such as Yamaha FZ V3.0, Bajaj Pulsar 160NS, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and Honda CB Hornet 160R.
