Suzuki Gixxer spied with front fairing and headlight like a Hayabusa, launch in 2015
Suzuki Motorcycle India first showcased the Gixxer 150 cc motorcycle at a special even earlier this year in presence of Salman Khan and Parineeti Chopra. Launched in September, for a starting price of Rs 72,199 ex-showroom Delhi, it competes with others in the 150cc segment like Bajaj Pulsar, Yamaha FZ Series Ver 2.0, Honda CB Unicorn, Hero Xtreme, etc.
In Gixxer, Suzuki India has managed to appease the motorcycle community. With a combination of good looks, fuel efficient and powerful engine, many consider the Gixxer as amongst the best 150cc motorcycle in the country today. It was only time that the company announced more variants based on such a good platform.
Even before Suzuki launched the Gixxer 150 naked version, the news about its faired version was already out. This new image now above confirms that Suzuki Motorcycle India is on track to offer a new Gixxer 150 cc variant. This new Gixxer variant is expected to be named GSX 150R.
Power will come from the same 154.9 single cylinder engine which generates 14.8 PS and 14 Nm torque in the Gixxer 150. From the spy shots, the fully faired variant can be seen wearing same body parts as seen on the naked Gixxer. These includes tyres, alloys, exhaust, foot pegs, fuel tank, seat, and mud guards. You can also see a Hayabusa styled headlight design in the spy shot.
The bike was caught on test in Delhi along with a regular Gixxer. Expected to be launched in 2015, price will range about Rs 10-15k more than without fairing variant. Once launched, it will compete with the Yamaha Fazer Ver 2.0 FI.
