New Suzuki Ignis is a sub 4 meter SUV. It sits on a wheelbase measuring 2,435 mm long with dimensions at 3,700 mm length, 1,660 mm width while height is at 1,595 mm. It features a ground clearance of 180mm due to which it offers excellent off road capabilities.
The new Suzuki Ignis is powered by a 1,242cc Durajet petrol engine offering 89.75bhp with an additional 3bhp via its electric motor, is mated to a CVT gearbox as standard across all variants. It is also offered without the electric motor, and only with the 1.2 liter petrol engine. In India, expect the Ignis to be powered by the same engine options seen on board Celerio – 1.0 liter petrol engine and a 800 cc diesel engine.
Launched in Japan, new Suzuki Ignis has been confirmed for launch in india later this year. Once launched in India, it will take on the recently launched Mahindra KUV100.
Interiors of Suzuki Ignis are expected to be more spacious as compared to Mahindra KUV100. It is seen with separately adjustable rear seat with sliding and reclining function, Apple CarPlay, navigation and heated front seats. Safety features include lane departure warning, side airbags and cruise control.

With debut of the new Suzuki Ignis at the 2016 Auto Expo, official launch in markets in India are only expected to take place around the time of the festive season later this year. Price of Ignis in Japan starts from 1.382 million Yen (INR 8 lakhs) while price in India could be in the range of INR 4-7 lakh.
