Suzuki Intruder 150 cruiser spied undisguised on road for first time

Suzuki Motorcycle India Limited (SMIL) is quietly preparing to launch a brand new compact cruiser early next month. After an image of the Suzuki Intruder 150 brochure leaked online last week, the first Intruder 150 has been spotted on road undisguised – giving us a clear idea about the styling and identity. To be called Suzuki Intruder 150, the cruiser has a striking design that certainly commands a second glance!

The fact that Suzuki has opted to use the flagship Intruder moniker for its entry level cruiser indicates that the manufacturer is quite serious about its new product. In India, the Intruder 150 will be pitted against the Bajaj Avenger 150 as a much more premium alternative.

The motorcycle sports a snazzy fuel tank with very prominent extensions, a beautiful headlamp, a comfortable looking saddle, curvy tailpiece and Gixxer-like twin-pipe silencer. Other noteworthy features include alloy wheels and a body colored engine cowl.

The powertrain is a reworked version of the Gixxer’s 155 cc air-cooled unit. On board the Gixxer, the motor produces 14.8 PS and 14 Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed transmission. Same will be delivered on board the Intruder 150. It has a kerb weight of 148 kgs and fuel tank of 11 liters.

Suzuki Intruder 150 measures 2130 mm in length, 805 mm in width and 1095 mm in height. Keeping in mind the lower saddle height preference by majority of two wheeler riders in India, the seat height is at just 740 mm.

The picture shows that the Suzuki Intruder 150 will be equipped with front and rear disc brakes. Suspension system comprises telescopic forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear. Front tyre is 100/80-17 while rear is a 140/60-17.

We expect the Suzuki Intruder 150 to carry an ex-showroom price in the vicinity of INR 90,000 to 1 lakh.
