Suzuki Intruder 150 recalled over faulty lock set – Dealers to fix for free in 30 minutes

Suzuki Intruder 150, launched in 2017, saw the introduction of a fuel injection version launched earlier this year in March 2018. The company has now issued a recall notice for these bikes after receiving complaints from customers over starting issues, reveals Team-BHP.

Suzuki Intruder 150 has a faulty lockset. This in turn affects the bike’s ignition while using self start. The company has issued a recall and customers have been notified while company dealerships have been instructed to rectify the issue. The precise number of such bikes affected by the faulty lock set has not been revealed.

Suzuki Intruder 150 is an entry level cruiser bike which is priced at INR 99,995. Its onboard equipment includes a projector like LED position lamp, large front cowl, LED tail lamp and massive exhausts. In terms of styling, the Intruder 150 borrows heavily from the original Intruder.

The Intruder 150 is seen with telescopic front forks and swing arm suspension at the rear while it sits on 17” tubeless tyres with disc brakes at both ends. In terms of safety, the Intruder 150 gets single channel ABS and competes with the Bajaj Avenger 180 and 220 in its price range.

It is powered by the same engine as seen on the Gixxer. This 154.9cc, air cooled, single cylinder engine offers 14.6 bhp power at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm torque at 6,000 rpm mated to a 5 speed gearbox.

Apart from the Intruder 150 being recalled, Suzuki had also recalled the GSX-S750 and GSX-R1000R to fix issues with a leaking fuel pump. Prior to that, the Japanese bike maker has also recalled Access 125 over a faulty rear axle.
