Maruti Suzuki Kizashi was restlessly anticipated in India when it’s madly-wild concept form was unveiled. But the production version was highly tamed and there was not much in the car to offer for the exorbitant price it asked. Ergo it failed miserably, forcing the company to withdraw the model from the lineup without a squeak.
Looks like history is repeating itself with slight shift in geography, as Suzuki Kizashi is launched in Pakistan at incredibly higher price of PKR 50 lakhs (Indian equivalent Rs. 30.78 lakhs).
Suzuki Kizashi for Pakistan is powered by 2.4 litre petrol engine mated to 6-speed manual transmission or Continuously Varying Transmission (CVT) with paddle shifters. Features list includes keyless entry & go, steering mounted multifunction controls, auto-dimming rear view mirror, dual climate control AC, rain sensing wipers and the like.
Public response for the price of new Suzuki Kizashi in Pakistan is not as nearly as what one would call even mediocre. But it seems officials of Suzuki Pakistan were well aware of the public reaction they would face, yet they chose to go ahead in order to ‘change the perception of the brand’. But it seems more like leftover stock of Kizashi is being distributed, in vain, anyway.
