T1 Prima truck racing championship 2015 main race will be held on Sunday, March 15. Last year about 20,000 people attended the race. This year too 12 purpose built Tata PRIMA race trucks will be driven by experienced international truck racing drivers. Trucks participating in T1 Prima truck racing championship 2015 are faster by 20 pct (upto 135 km/hr), with 10 pct increased acceleration and 10 pct weight reduction.
T1 Prima truck racing championship 2015 includes 2 free practice sessions and a qualifying Race tomorrow. An 8 lap super qualifier and a 16 lap final race will be held on Sunday. This year’s main sponsors are Wabco, JK Tyres, Cummins, Castrol and Tata Technologies. Setco Automotive and Tata Motors Finance sponsor Team allied partners. Participating teams and drivers are Castrol Vecton (Stuart Oliver and Oly Janes), Team Cummins (Mat Summerfield and Simon Reid), Tata Technologies Motorsports (David Jenkins
and Steven Powell), Allied Partners (Steve Rothery and Chris Levett), Dealer Warriors (Richard Collett and Graham Powell), and Dealer Daredevils (Ben Horne and Paul Alan McCumisky).
Team Castrol Vecton won T1 Prima truck racing championship 2014, followed by Team Cummins and Team Tata Technologies Motorsports. Stuart Oliver, Dave Jenkins and Mathew Summerfield are back on track this year. Tata Motors has introduced a new Indian Drive Selection and Training Program for 2016 so potential Indian truck drivers can race in future editions.
