Tata Ace Mega LCV has been launched at INR 4.3 lakhs (ex-showroom Thane). Positioned as the new top-end variant of the Ace Dicor family, the new model serves as a cheaper alternative to bigger engined Super Ace.
Ace Mega is powered the same 800 cc twin-cylinder DICOR diesel engine as the regular variants but its tuned to produce a healthy 40 hp. The motor is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Ace Mega has a rated payload capacity of 1 tonne. The vehicle’s leaf spring suspension system (on rigid front and rear axles), and load body have been beefed up to handle the additional payload. The braking system too has been upgraded with 7″ vacuum booster.
Tata Ace Mega gets a 40 hp version of the 800cc DICOR engine and has a payload rating of 1 tonne.Positioned as an intra- and inter-city load carrier, Tata Ace Mega’s more powerful engine is capable of top speed of 90 kmph. The LCV has a gradeability of 30% and a claimed fuel efficiency of 18.5 kmpl. Ground clearance stands at 175 mm.
The cabin and dashboard design are identical to regular Ace variants but it offers an exclusive Azure Blue exterior color option with body colored bumpers. In terms of features, Ace Mega offers mobile charging point, provision for a music system, full fabric seats, digital clock and a lockable glove compartment.
The vehicle will be initially available in seven states – Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Bihar. Nation wide launch would be conducted in a phased manner.
The added power and payload rating of Tata Ace Mega would help the customers to increase productivity and reduce total operating costs. The new addition to the strong selling Ace family would help the company further consolidate its leadership position in the segment.
