With promises to redefine the urban car, Altroz is slated to be launched in January 2020. But ahead of that, it will make its global debut today, at 8-30 PM in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. And even ahead of that, details about the car have been leaked.

It may be recalled that Altroz had first made an appearance at 2018 Auto Expo as 45X concept. Earlier this year, Altroz was showcased in near-production form at 2019 Geneva Motor Show. While official bookings will commence from December 4 (tomorrow), unofficial booking for Altroz is currently open at select dealerships.

One of the key differentiators for Altroz is that it gets and entirely new platform called ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) Architecture. ALFA is lightweight, yet strong and designed to improve driving dynamics and performance. Safety is another factor that gets a boost with ALFA. The new platform is versatile and flexible and Tata Motors has plans to use it for developing several new cars in the future. ALFA can be used to create various body styles such as sedan, compact SUV, etc. It supports multiple powertrains, hybridisation and electrification. Altroz also offers best-in-class boot space of 345 litres. This can be increased to 665 liters by folding rear seats.

Targeted at professionals and the young generation, Altroz has a sassy profile that’s designed to turn heads on the streets. The hatchback offers a smart blend of smooth curves and laser-cut creases on body panels, which give the car its unique character. Other key features that stand out include split headlamps, sleek bumpers, laser-cut alloy wheels, dual-tone roof and piano-black ORVMs.
