The updated Tata Aria will sport a VariCor 2.2 liter turbo diesel engine which is also seen on board Tata Safari Storme. This engine will be capable of 10 PS more power, compared to the existing Aria, taking total power output to 150 PS from an earlier 140 PS. The re-tuned engine of new Aria will also ensure better fuel efficiency at 15.05 kmpl, an improvement of more than 1.5 kmpl as compared to existing Aria. Torque remains same at 320 Nm.
Aria facelift will also sport some design modifications in the form of new headlamps, smoked tail lamps and Harman music system designed exclusively for this car. The new Aria will be offered in Pure, Pleasure and Pride (AWD) variants and will be seen with added safety features to include a total of 6 airbags, 4 disc brakes, ABS and EBD besides dual air conditioning, cruise control, multimedia navigation and Bluetooth telephony. Comfort features will be in the form of flexible and spacious seating and added leg and head space.
Some Tata Motors dealers have commenced taking orders for the Aria facelift for a sum of INR 50,000 though deliveries are slated for sometime in mid March. The Aria facelift could come in at a price of INR 30,000-50,000 higher than existing variants. Exact price will be revealed at the official launch in Chennai on 12th March.
