UPDATE – As reported earlier, the correct launch date for Tata Bolt is 22nd January 2015, and not 20th January 2015. The article below has been accordingly edited.
First showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year, along with Zest compact sedan, Bolt is Tata’s second car to be built on the HorizoNEXT campaign.
Aimed at young buyers, Tata Bolt features a sporty exterior, and arguably best in class interior design. Tata Bolt has been designed with inputs from Tata Motors’ design studios in Pune in India, Coventry in the United Kingdom and Turin in Italy.
Just like the Zest, in anticipation of Bolt launch, and to improve dealerships experience, Tata Motors dealers across India have hired about 1,000 trained personnel. They will be aided with tablets, to showcase features of new Bolt in real time, and at the same time clear doubts of consumers in no time.
Engine specifications on board the new Tata Bolt will include the new 1.2 liter turbocharged Revotron petrol engine generating 84 bhp peak power at 5,000 rpm and 140 Nm torque at 1,750-3,500 rpm. Its diesel engine offering will be in the form of a 1.3 liter Quadrijet diesel engine generating 73 bhp power and 190 Nm torque.
