First units of Tata Bolt have started making their way to company dealerships. Bookings have opened at a down payment of INR 11,000, while launch will take place on 22nd January 2015. Tata Bolt is the company’s second car to be based on the HorizoNext campaign, and will be offered in a choice of 10 variants, 5 petrol and 5 diesel.
Tata Bolt comes in with a brand new stance and well sculpted body for which credit goes to Tata Motors’ design studios in Pune, India, Coventry, UK Turin, Italy. Boasting of best in class interior space and on-board comforts, Tata Bolt will be the first in its segment to receive features such as projector headlights, electrically adjustable wing mirrors and Harman infotainment system with 8 speakers and navigation support. Tata Bolt’s infotainment system will also boast of Bluetooth connectivity, smartphone integration and voice recognition.
Exteriors sport a floating roof and blackened C pillars giving the new Bolt a sportier appeal. The petrol variant which will get three driving modes of Eco, Sport and City will be powered by a Revotron 1.2 liter turbocharged Multi Point Fuel Injection engine capable of peak power of 90 bhp and peak torque of 140 Nm. Its diesel counterpart will be a Fiat sourced 1.3 liter engine offering 75 bhp power and 190 Nm torque.

Both engines will be mated to 5 speed manual gearbox across all variants. Tata Bolt will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10, Honda Brio, Chevrolet Sail, and Datsun Go.
