Tata Bolt Sport with new ‘S’ logo debuts at 2016 Auto Expo [Update]

All-new Tata Bolt Sport has made its debut at the ongoing 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. Not on sale yet, Tata Motors is yet to confirm any launch plans of this sporty hatchback.

Powered by the same 1.2-liter turbocharged four cylinder Revotron petrol engine which is seen onboard the existing Bolt hatchback, tuned to deliver 110 PS at 5,300 rpm and 170 Nm peak torque in the range of 3,000 – 3,800 rpm. Mated to a five speed manual transmission, the car does a 0-100 kmph in under 12 seconds.

Considering that demand for hot hatchbacks is on the rise, we would not be wrong to think that the Bolt Sport is nearing its launch. If it does get launched here, expect it to be priced in the range of INR 10 lakh, and compete with the likes of Fiat Punto Abarth.
First unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the one on display at the Auto Expo is slightly different, giving us reason to believe that Tata Motors is actually working towards launching the Tata Bolt Sport in India.

The changes on the outside include revised front bumper and rear bumper, while the grille is now seen with an ‘S’ logo, instead of the Tata Motors logo. The same S logo also replaces the Tata Motors logo at the rear. This new ‘S’ logo could probably be the name of their new brand, which will feature powerful variants of their existing cars.

Other updates seen on board the Tata Bolt Sport are attractive 17-inch alloys, ventilated discs with red callipers on all four wheels, race-spec Apollo Aspire 205 section rubber, projector headlamps with LED DRLs. On the inside it gets red accents, leather cover with red stitching on the seats, steering wheel and gear lever.
