Tata Camo and Dark Editions Trademark leaks – Tiago, Nexon, Tigor, Altroz, Harrier, Gravitas

The new special edition ranges are expected to incorporate some cosmetic upgrades with different colour schemes and no mechanical changes

In the latest development, Tata Motors has filed trademarks for two special range of passenger vehicles namely- Camo Edition and Dark Edition. The two range of vehicles are special editions and will be sold parallelly along with the regular edition.

The move is suspected to be an aggressive strategy from Tata Motors to increase its market share in the passenger vehicle segment. The Dark and Camo edition has been trademarked for all their existing cars – Harrier, Nexon, Tiago, Tigor and Altroz. In addition, the same editions have also been trademarked for their next SUV – Gravitas. There is also a Tiago EXO edition, that was trademarked last year.

Details of registered trademarks

The Camo edition, as suggested by its name, is likely to feature an exterior design of camouflage of black and white colours. The idea may have originated from the car wrapping video on the internet and the fact that audiences love such a design. It is yet unknown whether the Camo Edition will be just a wrap-up or a completely different paint scheme. Although, it is expected to be the former.

The Dark Edition on the other hand will be the same regular vehicles in a special all-black colour scheme. This cosmetic update might actually sync in well with the current crop of cars since they are not laced in with much chrome on the exterior. Further details of the Camo and Dark Edition ranges will be revealed soon by the company as it prepares for the launch. Expect these new editions to be about Rs 10-30k more expensive than the respective variant it is based on.

Upcoming launches from Tata Motors

This year has been an eventful year for Tata Motors with several new launches. The year kicked off with the launch of the premium hatchback Altroz and later with the introduction of the facelifted Nexon, Tiago, Tigor and Harrier. These updates came at the right time for the car maker, as can be seen in the recent sales reports, which are reporting triple digit growth.

The manufacturer’s next big launch is the seven-seater version of harrier- the Gravitas which is expected to hit showrooms in the coming few weeks. The Gravitas was earlier supposed to be launched sometime around April but got delayed due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The SUV has been spotted quite often lately which would indicate that it is nearing its launch. Other new products insight for launches in the first half of next year are HBX mini UV and Hexa Safari Edition.
