Tata Motors has seen total PV sales of 47,007 units in April 2023, relating to a 13.03 percent YoY growth

Tata Motors has revealed their sales report for April 2023. In the first month of this financial year, the company has seen a 13.03 percent growth in passenger vehicle sales (which also includes electric vehicles). Sales in the past month stood at 47,007 units, up 13.03 percent from 41,587 units sold in April 2022. It was also a 6.73 percent MoM growth from 44,044 units sold in March 2023.

Taking into account passenger vehicle (PV) sales in the past month, Tata Motors domestic sales stood at 47,007 units while exports stood at 100 units. Exports improved 133 percent YoY from 43 units shipped in April 2022.

This took total PV + EV sales to 47,107 units, up 13 percent YoY from 41,630 units sold in April 2022. Taking only electric vehicles into account, domestic sales + exports increased 179 percent from 2,333 units sold in April 2022 to 6,516 units in the past month.

In the EV segment, Tata Motors introduced the Nexon EV Max Dark in April 2023, priced at Rs 19.04 lakh (ex-showroom). The company is now working on launching 2023 Tata Nexon facelift. This highly favoured sub-4 meter compact SUV is set to receive a facelift in the coming months and will continue to take on the Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet in terms of competition in its segment.

Altroz CNG is now open for bookings, with launch planned in coming days. Deliveries will start by mid of this month. Other upcoming launches from Tata Motors include Punch CNG, Harrier facelift, Safari facelift, etc.

Tata Commercial Vehicle Sales April 2023

Sales de-growth was seen across every segment on the commercial vehicle sales list. Starting with HCV trucks,  sales dipped 6 percent YoY from 7,425 units sold in April 2022 to 6,984 units in April 2023. ILMCV trucks saw a 62 percent YoY de-growth to 2,148 units in April 2023 from 5,607 units sold in April 2022 while sales of passenger carriers fell by 4 percent to 2,061 units in the past month from 2,137 units sold in the same month last year.

SCV cargo and pick-up sales were also in the red in April 2023 down 30 percent YoY to 10,314 units, from 14,711 units sold in April 2022. Total CV domestic sales fell 28 percent to 21,507 units in April 2023 from 29,800 units sold in April 2022.

It was only in terms of exports that the company posted positive sales by 3 percent. There had been 958 units shipped in April 2022 which improved to 985 units in the past month. Total commercial vehicle sales stood at 22,492 units in April 2023, down 27 percent from 30,838 units sold in April 2022.
