These demo cars serve a specific duty and after that dealerships often try to sell them off with attractive discounts and clear inventory for fresh demo cars or some other reasons.
Similarly, a Tata Motors dealer from Andhra Pradesh called Jasper Tata is clearing his demo car inventory and is offering up to Rs 10 lakh off on them. These discounts are not for new cars sold from Jasper Tata, but only on demo cars. The dealer has listed out the demo cars on sale, their respective new prices and offer prices. Let’s take a closer look.
Tata Dealer Selling Demo Cars
Demo cars are operated and maintained by authorised dealerships to provide test drive experience for potential buyers. They are often driven by a multitude of potential drivers across multiple skill levels and driving styles. This is why demo cars are usually not preferred by new car buyers, despite the discount.
However, if the discount is tempting and the condition is decent, buyers tend to gravitate towards them. Jasper Tata operates from four cities in Andhra Pradesh state – Vijayawada, Bhimavaram, Guntur and Vizag. To attract buyers, Jasper Tata is offering discounts of up to Rs 10 lakh, depending on the demo car.
The list of demo cars on sale include Nexon, Punch, Punch EV, Tiago EV, Nexon EV, Curvv, Curvv EV and Altroz. The lowest discount is for Punch CNG Accomplished Dazzle S with Rs 4.10 lakh off, followed by Punch EV Empowered+ LR with Rs 4.6 lakh off. Altroz XZ+ Diesel is offered with discount of up to Rs 5.1 lakh.
Nexon EV 3.0 Empowered+ LR gets a discount of Rs 5.15 lakh. ICE versions of Nexon demo cars are also on sale. Nexon Fearless+ S DT Petrol gets Rs 5.6 lakh discount and Nexon Fearless+ S DT Petrol DCA gets Rs 5.93 lakh discount. Another Nexon Fearless+ S DT Petrol gets a discount of Rs 6.4 lakh.
Less Than Half of the Sticker Price
With cars like Tiago EV LR XZ+ Tech Lux, Jasper Tata is offering Rs 6 lakh off. Now, moving towards larger vehicles, we can see that Curvv Accomplished+ A Diesel gets Rs 8.65 lakh discount and Curvv EV Empowered+ A 55 kWh gets the highest discount of Rs 10.1 lakh discount, making it a tempting buy.
If we look at the offer price of Rs 5.8 lakh on Tiago EV LR XZ+Tech Lux, it is less than half of the sticker price, which is Rs 11.8 lakh. With these demo vehicles one can get close to 50% off in some cases too. One can see that discounts depend on vehicle’s condition and mileage as well and one has to be vigilant about what they are getting into.
