Tata Motors has reported low sales through the month of April 2019. This dip in sales can be noted through all segments with commercial sales down by 18 percent, M&HCV sales down by 33 percent while domestic passenger vehicle sales also fell by 26 percent along with exports that declined 53 percent. Tata dealers have been left with unsold stocks from the previous model year and are hence offering high discounts in a bid to clear stocks. Customers can avail of a discount and benefits upto Rs.65,000 across the Tata Motor lineup in the month of May 2019.
Tata Tiago benefits upto Rs.25,000 – Tata Tiago, priced from Rs.3.21 to Rs 5.49 lakhs, is being offered with benefits upto Rs.25,000 for MY 2018. Buyers of all trim levels except for the top end XZ+, can avail benefits upto Rs.15,000 while customers can gain benefits on insurance upto Rs.4,000. The XZ+ trim MY18 model is offered at additional discount upto Rs.25,000 depending on availability. Tata Tiago compact hatchback competes with Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Hyundai Grand i10 and Honda Brio and will be receiving a facelift later this year with several exterior and interior updates along with a BS VI compliant engine lineup.
Tata Nexon benefits upto Rs.40,000 – MY 2019 models of Tata Nexon compact SUV are being offered with benefits upto Rs.40,000 while MY 2018 models get an added discount of Rs.20,000. Tata Nexon, powered by both petrol and diesel engine options has been facing some competition from the recently introduced Mahindra XUV300 with sales of the Nexon seeing a sharp decline in April 2019. The Nexon is the first 5 Star rated made in India car and also faces severe competition from the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Ford EcoSport while competition in this segment will also get hotter with the new Hyundai Venue entering production in Chennai.
Tata Tigor benefits upto Rs.55,000 – Tata Tigor compact sedan, priced from Rs. 5.20 to 7.38 lakhs is being offered with discounts and benefits upto Rs.55,000 with MY18 models at an added Rs.20,000 discount. Till date, the Tigor was offered in a choice of petrol and diesel engine options with the company having just announced that the 1.05 liter diesel engine variants of the Tiago hatchback and Tigor sedan will be axed as demand for diesel variants of small cars could decline once BS VI norms come into effect from 1st April 2020.
Tata Bolt benefits upto Rs.65,000 – Tata Motors is offering discounts and exchange bonuses on the 2018 and 2019 models of its Bolt hatchback. These benefits extend to Rs.65,000 while cars from the 2018 model year are offered with an additional discount of Rs.20,000. The Tata Bolt hatchback is powered by a 1.2 liter turbocharged petrol engine or a Fiat sourced 1.3 liter diesel engine and takes on the Hyundai Grand i10 and Maruti Suzuki Swift in terms of competition.
Tata Zest benefits upto Rs.65,000 – Like the Tata Bolt, the Zest is also available at company dealerships at a discount upto Rs.65,000 while the 2018 model comes in with an added Rs.20,000 discount. The Zest compact sedan is powered by a 1193cc petrol engine and a 1248cc diesel engine and competes in the compact sedan segment with the Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire, Honda Amaze and Hyundai Xcent.
Tata Hexa benefits upto Rs.55,000 – The Tata Hexa SUV is being presented at company showrooms at a discount upto Rs.55,000 while discounts on MY 2018 models extend to a further Rs.20,000. The Tata Hexa, 7 seater was updated earlier this year with a larger 7.0” infotainment system, new exterior color schemes and 19” diamond cut alloy wheels on its higher trims.
Tata Safari Storme benefits upto Rs. 50,000 – Tata Safari Storme, priced from Rs.11.09 – 16.34 lakhs is being offered at company dealerships at benefits upto Rs.50,000 for MT 2019 while MY 2018 models get an additional Rs.20,000 benefit.This 7 seater SUV is powered by a 2.2 liter turbocharged diesel engine in two states of tune. One produces 156PS of power and 400Nm of peak torque mated to a 6 speed manual while the other is capable of 150PS of power and 320Nm of torque mated to a 5 speed manual transmission.
Tata Sumo Gold benefits upto Rs.25,000 – Among one of the brands oldest cars currently on sale in the country, the Tata Sumo Gold is a 9 seater model which has found favor with taxi operators in the country. It comes in with benefits upto Rs.25,000 for the month of May 2019. Tata Sumo Gold is priced at Rs.7.28-8.68 lakhs and offered in three variants of CX, EX and GX. It gets powered via a 3.0 liter CR4 diesel engine offering 85 PS power and 250 Nm torque and returns mileage of 15.3 kmpl. It will be discontinued by Oct 2019.
Tata Nano benefits upto Rs.25,000 – Even as production of the Tata Nano has been stopped, stocks lying at company showrooms are being offered at discounts upto Rs.25,000. The Nano has met with this end due to new safety norms coming into effect and BS VI emission engines being made mandatory from next year. Adherence to these norms will prove highly uneconomical. The Tata Nano is powered by a 624cc, 2 cylinder engine mated to a manual or AMT gearbox while it also comes in with a factory fitted CNG option.
