Tata Nexon is based on a new X1 platform also shared with the recently revealed Zest and Bolt. If the Nexon makes it to the production line, it will be powered with a 1.2 liter Revoltron turbocharged petrol engine offering peak power of 83 bhp and 140 Nm torque while a diesel engined option will be in the form of a Fiat sourced 1.3 liter Quadrajet engine.
The compact SUV segment is growing by leaps and bounds and Tata Motors is not left behind. Tata Nexon is expected enter production in early 2015 after which it will compete with a favorable price tag with Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster, VW Taigun and Nissan Terrano.
Bearing a different appearance from other Tata models, the Nexon will have a futuristic stance both on its exteriors and interiors while it will have added ground clearance. It sports a sloping roofline and rising beltline while its flared wheelarches and blacked out scuffplate give the SUV a futuristic appeal on its exterior while interiors match with a host of connectivity features.
