Tata H5X spied on test in Pune – Spotted standing next to Maruti S-Cross

Showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo as a concept, the pre-production test mule of Tata’s upcoming flagship SUV, H5X has been spotted on test in Pune. The car was spotted near the Market Yard area of Pune, stuck in a peak hour traffic. Seen standing next to a Maruti S-Cross, the Tata SUV looks much bigger in all dimension.
This new Tata SUV which is slated for launch in the current fiscal year. It is positioned on a new platform called the ‘Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced (OMEGA)’ platform on which the Land Rover Discovery Sport is also positioned.
New Tata H5X will be the first production model to boast of Tata Impact 2.0 design language and its production version will follow similar designs as seen on the concept at the 2018 Auto Expo. With dimensions that stand 4,575mm in length, 1,960 mm in width and 1,686 mm in height, the H5X has a 2,740 mm wheelbase. It will boast of a well done up cabin with a host of driver and passenger comfort and convenience features and prices could be in the INR 16 lakh range.
Its exterior makeup will include pronounced wheel arches, daytime running LED lights, a prominent tri-arrow housing on bumper and skid plates. It will also receive wraparound tail lamps with LED graphics and dual tone bumpers.
Engine specifications on the Tata H5X SUV will include a Fiat sourced 2.0 liter MultiJet II diesel engine offering 140-170 hp power and mated to a ZF sourced 9 speed automatic transmission.
Tata H5X flagship SUV will be launched in the same segment as the Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson, but it is expected to undercut rivals by a price of approximately Rs 3-5 lakhs.
