Tata Harrier premium SUV, showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo in concept format, is getting closer to launch. Tata Motors has started a new series on Youtube, where they reveal new details of the Harrier via teasers everyday.
After revealing the car’s exterior, dashboard, JBL speakers, multi-drive modes, AC vents; Tata has now revealed gear knob. This teaser for the first time confirms the presence of 6 speed manual transmission on board the Harrier SUV.
Tata Motors also rolled out the first Harrier SUV from its new manufacturing line at its Pune based production plant, which boasts of 90 per cent automation levels with over 100+ KUKA and ABB robots.
Tata Harrier, one of the most anticipated launches in 2019 will be the first model to receive the IMPACT Design 2.0 philosophy. It will be built on the OMEGA architecture which has been jointly developed by Tata Motors along with Jaguar Land Rover called the JLR D8 architecture that also underpins Range Rover Evoque, Land Rover Discovery Sport and Jaguar E-Pace.
It gets flared wheel arches, 5 spoke alloy wheels, a high shoulder line and blackened B Pillars. The C Pillars sport triangular quarter glass while the rear end gets a raked windshield, dual tone bumper design and wrap around tail lamps. Interiors will be seen in a dual tone grey and brown color scheme. It gets a conventional instrument panel with rounded dials, floating 8.8 inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Another outstanding feature that will be seen on the Tata Harrier and which was recently revealed will be under armrest storage space for driver and front passenger. This space will accommodate tin cans and paper cups and keep them cooled via the chilled AC air. This is a notable feature on the Tata Harrier which was only seen on the likes of cars from Audi, BMW and Mercedes Benz.
Tata Harrier will be powered by a new engine which the company calls the Kryotec 2.0. This engine offers 140 PS power and 320 Nm torque and gets mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox.
