Tata Harrier 7 seater H7X spied in India ahead of debut in March 2019

Last month, Tata Harrier SUV was launched in India. It is a 5 seater SUV. Based on this 5 seater SUV, a new 7 seater SUV will be launched, which is currently known as H7X or Harrier 7 seater. Official name has not been revealed.

This new Harrier 7 seater SUV will make its global debut in March 2019. Set to come in with a new name, the 7 seater version of the Tata Harrier will be positioned on the Land Rover derivative D8 platform on which the Discovery Sport is positioned.

Harrier 5 seater.

This new platform will result in more interior space for the added two passenger seats at the rear. It will get 62mm longer rear overhangs as compared to the Harrier 5 seater version with overall length at 4,660mm (Harrier is 4598 mm).

However, it will share the same wheelbase with the Harrier measuring 2,741mm. In terms of exterior styling, the H7X will get new C Pillars so as to enhance glass area. Tri-arrow fog lamps, LED DRLs, large side air vents, new skid plate pronounced wheel arches and a sloping roofline are also features to be seen on the new H7X SUV along with wrap around smoked tail lamps.

Its interiors of the upcoming Tata H7X will borrow styling cues from the Harrier. It will be seen with a leather wrapped dashboard, large touchscreen infotainment system with connected car applications of MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear parking camera and sensors, electrically adjustable seating, ABS, EBD and brake assist along with traction control as part of its safety features.

Tata H7X will be powered by a Fiat sourced 2.0 liter MultiJet diesel engine. This engine will make 170 bhp pwer and 350 Nm torque mated to 6 speed manual or 6 speed automatic transmission options. Launch will take place at 2020 Auto Expo, in Feb next year. Prices are expected between Rs.16-21 lakhs, ex-sh, making it the most expensive cars from Tata Motors. The Tata H7X is seen as a competitor to the Toyota Fortuner and Mahindra Alturas.
