Tata Harrier, launched in India in January 2019, has been well received by buyers in the country. It commands the longest waiting period among the midsized SUVs, extending to upto 3 months. The Tata Harrier is offered in four variants – XE, XM, XT and XZ. Harrier price range starts at 12.99 Lakhs and goes all the way to Rs 16.76 lakhs for the top dual tone XZ variant.
In celebrating its first 10k customer base, there’s now dual tone Tata harrier colour options to choose from. This is the first time Tata Motors has made dual tone available as part of the car buying package with Harrier. Harrier dual tone is about Rs 20k costlier than monotone XZ option. Previously, dealers have taken it upon themselves to offer dual tone options to wanting customers, for a similar price tag.
Tata Harrier dual tone options are available in two colours – Calisto Copper and Orcus White. The colour range is only on offer for the range topping XZ variant. While body colour is available in Calisto Copper or Orcus site, this is matched with a black contrast roof. The colour matching approach adds to the vehicle’s visual appeal.
Built to last, Tata harrier relies on suspension via McPherson Strut and Coil Springs in the front. There’s a semi-independent suspension at the rear with twist blade, and Panhard rod and coil springs. This offers best in class ride quality.
In time, Tata Harrier with the new BS VI compliant engine will see a boost in power. As on date, the engine offers 138 bhp power and 350 Nm torque which will go up to around 170 bhp power via the 2.0 liter BS VI diesel engine. Tata Harrier will continue with the 6 speed manual gearbox even after the BS VI engine update. However, in terms of an automatic transmission, Harrier will get a 6 speed automatic unit sourced from Hyundai.
Tata Harrier has been the best selling car in the segment since launch. But that could change soon, thanks to the likes of MG Hector and Kia Seltos. The former has launched in India while the latter will be launching on 22nd August 2019. It will be interesting to see how sales of Harrier perform in the coming months.
