Harrier sports a curvy, aerodynamic profile, which is quite pleasing to the eye. Exterior features that make the most impact include LED DRLs cum turn indicators,  Xenon HID projector headlamps, flared wheel arches with contrast cladding, 3D LED tail lamps, and floating roof with bold chrome finisher.

On the inside, with its Oakwood themed dashboard, colour scheme and perforated leather seat upholstery, and satin chrome accents, Harrier’s interiors exude luxury and sophistication. Leather wrapped steering wheel & gear shift knob, ‘Nappa’ grain anti-reflective coating on dashboard,  8.8-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, and aero-throttle styled piano black parking brake add to Harrier’s classy interiors.

Speaking about the engine, Harrier and Jeep Compass are rivals. Both utilize the same Fiat-sourced 1956 cc, 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. However, the one on Harrier has been configured to deliver 140 PS power and 350 Nm torque. Engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and is BS-IV compliant. Automatic transmission will be introduced at a later date.

Tata Motors has developed Harrier in collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover. Over 1 million SUVs worldwide use Land Rover’s D8 architecture, something that is very reassuring for a Harrier buyer. Omega Arc utilizes monocoque construction, which ensures optimal torsional and bending stiffness. Omega Arc is key to ensuring superior driving dynamics for Harrier.

At launch, Harrier will be available in four trims – XE, XM, XT and XZ. Bookings for Harrier are open for Rs 30,000. Only manual transmission option will be on offer at launch. Automatic transmission will be launched later. At launch only 4×2 variant will be offered. 4×4 variant will launch later.
