Tata Harrier sales pocket book for dealers – Features compared, variants explained

Tata Harrier was launched in India on January 23. Bookings have commenced and deliveries have also begun to the first lot of buyers. In the month of Jan, Tata dispatched a total of 420 units. Priced from Rs.12.69 lakhs for the base XE trim to Rs.16.25 lakhs for the top of the line XZ variant (ex-sh prices), the features of Tata Harrier get explained across the four different trims.

Helping their dealers and sales person, is a new pocket book. This has been sent to all authorized Tata dealers. Tata Harrier sales pocket book explains the car, and all its features. It also compares the Harrier with rivals on various parameters. Rivals included are – Jeep Compass, Mahindra XUV500 and Hyundai Creta.

Tata Harrier XE, priced at Rs.12.69 lakhs is the base trim. Features include power steering, all four power windows, tilt and telescope steering, central locking system and perimetric alarm system along with electrically adjustable outside mirrors. Despite being an entry level model, it gets a lot in terms of safety as well with dual front airbags, speed sensitive auto door locks, alarm system and ABS. However its exteriors are seen without DRLs or chrome accents and it sits on steel wheels as against alloy wheels seen on the higher variants and is presented in a single color option of Orcus White.

Tata Harrier XM is priced at Rs. 13.75 lakh and it receives all the features seen on the XE trim in addition to multiple driving modes of Eco, City and Sport along with follow me home headlamps, front fog lamps, rear parking sensors and rear wiper and washer. The interiors receive a 7” touchscreen infotainment system, 6 speaker sound system, steering mounted controls, remote central locking and six way adjustable driver seat. To enhance its premium appeal, chrome accents are seen throughout its makeup. Color options include Thermisto Gold, Orcus White, Telesto Grey and Ariel Silver, but does not include the Calisto Copper seen on the top two trims.

Tata Harrier XT with a price tag of Rs. 14.95 lakh again receives all features seen on the other two trims along with some added exterior and interiors comforts and infotainment features. It sits on 17” alloy wheels and is seen with electrically adjustable ORVMs, auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers, dual function LED DRLs and turn indicators and auto headlamps. Its interiors boast of soft touch dashboard, an 8 speaker sound system, voice recognition, video playback, voice alerts, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Tata ConnectNext app, reverse parking camera and push button start. It also gets climate control, cruise control and an 8 way adjustable driver seat while a rear defogger is also among its safety features. It is presented in all 5 exterior colors options.

Top of the line Tata Harrier XZ gets a long list of features to justify its price at Rs. 16.25 lakh. It is seen with all the features of the other trims along with HID projector lamps and front fog lamps with cornering facility and a shark fin antenna. Its interiors are seen in an oak brown color scheme with leather upholstery. It gets terrain response modes of Normal, Rough and Wet, an 8” touchscreen infotainment system, 9 speaker JBL sound system with amplifier and 60:40 split rear seats. It is in the safety department that this trim gets the maximum features. These include a total of 6 airbags, ESP, ABS, EBD, traction control, hill hold assist, hill descent control, roll over mitigation, cornering stability control and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
