Tata Harrier starts arriving at dealer yard ahead of launch this week

Tata Motors has been actively testing the Harrier 5 seater SUV, over the past many months. Finally, the car is ready for launch. Launch date is just around the corner, on 23rd January 2019. Ahead of that, the SUV has started arriving at dealer yards, who will start deliveries on the same date.

Bookings of Tata Harrier started back in October last year. For those who have booked the car, it has been a long wait. Though prices are yet to be revealed, Tata has confirmed that Harrier prices will range from Rs 16 lakhs to Rs 21 lakhs on road.

Tata Harrier enters the mid size SUV segment wherein it will rival the Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass. It will be presented in four variants of XE, XM, XT and XZ. All will be powered by a new 2.0 turbocharged , 4 cylinder diesel engine which Tata Motors calls the Kryotec. The engine offers 140 PS power and 350 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual transmission.

Based on a platform which is shared with Land Rover Discovery Sport, Harrier will receive segment first Terrain Response Mode with multiple terrain modes of Normal, Wet and Rough. It will also receive Tata’s Multi Drive 2.0 which includes Eco, City and Sport modes.

Tata Harrier will be available in 5 colours, which are detailed in the video by Aravind Poornachandra below.

In terms of dimensions, Harrier will stand 4,598mm long, 1,894mm wide and 1,706mm high with a 2,741mm long wheelbase. Its exteriors will be seen with a wide front grille with integrated LED DRLs and high intensity discharge HID type projector headlamps. It also receives fog lamps with cornering function, a floating roofline, prominent wheel arches and 17” alloy wheels. It gets LED tail lamps, front and rear skid plates and high ground clearance for a better off roading stance.

Its dual tone interiors will be seen with passenger and driver comforts in the form of faux leather seats, a wood trimmed dashboard, an 8.8” TFT touchscreen with Tata ConnectNext infotainment and a 9 speaker audio system from JBL. Safety features will include 6 airbags, ABS and EBD along with cornering stability control, hill hold assist, hill descent control, roll over mitigation and hydraulic brake assist.
