Webasto offers different kinds of sunroof options. All are not authorized by Tata Motors.

When Tata Harrier was shown off at the 2018 Auto Expo, it was its panoramic sunroof that found favor among viewers. However, at launch earlier this year, this sunroof was conspicuous by its absence. Now, the company has introduce the sunroof as an official accessory which is priced at Rs. 95,100 plus installation charges.

Tata Motors has announced that while this accessory can be opted for by new buyers of the Harrier, existing buyers will also be able to get this sunroof fitted as well. The exact size of this electric sunroof has not been revealed.

This accessory would take a week to be fitted onto the Harrier and will not void the warranty on the vehicle. This new sunroof is being offered in view of competitors to the Harrier such as the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos along with the Jeep Compass and MG Hector all sporting sunroofs.

Tata Harrier sunroof by Webasto above comes with warranty of 2 years.

Considering the fact that sunroofs are becoming a popular feature across all segment right from budget cars, the company has decided to offer this as an accessory. Tata Motors has not offered a sunroof on any of its vehicles except for the flagship Hexa luxury crossover.

In a press note by the company, Tata says, “Tata Motors is happy to announce the introduction of the electric sunroof on the Harrier through Tata Motors Genuine Accessories (TMGA). The Harrier Electric Sunroof H-300, manufactured by Webasto – a market leader that has developed and produced sunroofs for the automotive industry for more than 60 years, is installed by trained experts from Webasto to ensure seamless quality, and comes with a 2 year warranty from the date of installation.

The H-300 sunroof offers a drought-free fresh air experience while creating a pleasant and bright vehicle interior. Additionally, the sunroof comes with a tinted protective Venus glass that deflects the UV radiation and sun rays regardless of the amount of incoming light. This latest introduction from Tata Motors promises to be a much sought after feature among the Harrier customers.”

With the launch of MG Hector and Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier sales have declined to about 700 units last month. This was the lowest Harrier sales registered in a single month post launch. In order to boost sales, Tata will soon launch a new Harrier Dark edition, which comes with all black exterior and interior.
