Tata Harrier SUV undergoes the water wading test on video – High ground clearance
Tata Harrier is getting ready for India launch.
Tata Motors has been sharing a new teaser video of the Harrier SUV every day since the past three days. First they showed Harrier going through the torcher test, then yesterday it was the 4-Poster test and today, they show us the water wading capability of the Harrier.
Speaking about the new test, Tata says, “An incisive beast, the Tata Harrier can cut through any obstacle with verve and vigour, be it water-logged roads or muddy trails, the OMEGARC makes sure you march through with ease.”
Set for launch later this year or early next year, Tata Harrier is one of the most awaited SUVs in India. It is powered by a 2.0 liter diesel engine, which is also seen on board the Jeep Compass. This engine will be mated to 6 speed manual as well as 6 speed automatic transmission. Power output is expected to be in the range of 140 PS while torque could be in the region of 300 Nm.
It will be offered with both 2WD as well as 4WD system. Based on the tried and tested Land Rover D8 platform, the Tata Harrier is designed under the IMPACT 2.0 philosophy. Watch the SUV undergo the water wading test below. Water wading test shows the car’s capability to manoeuvre through water-logged as well as slushy roads.
Based on the Tata H5X concept, which was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, the Harrier will feature 85% of the exterior and interior that was seen on the concept. Spy shots of production ready variants testing on road confirm that the LED headlights and LED taillights have survived.
On the inside we have a large touchscreen infotainment system to meet the car’s navigation and connectivity needs. It is powered by Harman infotainment system, which is also seen in other Tata cars. More details will soon be revealed as the launch gets closer. Expected price is in the region of Rs 13 lakhs. Once launched, it will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass.
