Tata Motors has unveiled new Tata Hexa SUV at the 2016 Auto Expo alongside the Nexon compact SUV, Kite sedan, and Zica hatchback. Tata Motors has also revealed an all new passenger vehicle design philosophy called IMPACT at the Expo.
The six seater Tata Hexa SUV comes in a 2+2+2 arrangement. It measures 4,764 mm in length, 1,895 mm in length and 1,780 mm in height while it has a long wheelbase of 2,850 mm. Exteriors sport a new front fascia with well defined projector headlamps, a honeycomb grille and new bumpers. Sitting on new 19” alloy wheels, the Hexa SUV follows a similar design on its sides as seen on the Aria, while at the rear, dual exhaust pipes, dual-tone paint scheme and new reflectors are evident. The tail lamps and LED units have also been restyled while a new spoiler is seen at the rear.
Interior seating sports some changes as compared to the Aria currently on sale. Captain seats receive good quality leather upholstery with twin needle stitching. LED illumination for ambient mood lights is seen in its interiors while on the safety aspect, a total of 6 airbags which also include side and curtain airbags are on offer on the new Tata Hexa.
The Tata Hexa is powered by a 2.2 liter four cylinder VARICOR diesel engine offering 154 bhp power and 400 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual transmission while it will also be offered with a 4WD option. Set to enter production later this year, Tata Hexa could be priced in the range of INR 13-18 lakhs. It will compete against the likes of Mahindra SsangYong Rexton, Chevrolet Captiva and Hyundai Santa Fe.
