The production version of the Tata Kite 5 (codename) sedan has been spied up close once again. The sedan derivative of the Tiago hatchback will be positioned below the Zest.
The yet-to-be-named Tiago sedan adopts a rear end design that stands out from rest of the sub-4 metre compact sedans in the market.
While the front half of the car is identical to the Tiago hatchback, the fastback-like sloping roofline, new wraparound taillights and a rear bumper with a black plastic insert give the sedan an individualistic appeal.
Inside, the design and layout have been borrowed from the Tiago but the sedan boasts of additional features like a Harman touchscreen infotainment system and reverse parking camera. The lower part of the dashboard appears to be sporting darker hue than what is seen in the hatchback.
The Tiago’s 85 PS 1.2-litre Revotron three-cylinder petrol and 70 PS 1.05-litre Revtorq diesel engine will power the Kite 5 sedan as well. A 5-speed manual transmission will be standard across the range but Tata could also introduce an AMT variant.

The Tata Kite 5 sedan will be looking to lure customers away from B-segment hatchbacks like the Maruti Swift, and even the Tata Bolt, with the promise of additional boot space.
