Domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for December 2014 were 37,776 units over 35,010 vehicles sold in December 2013, equating to 8% growth. Cumulative sales (including exports) for the fiscal are 362,995 units down from 435,079 vehicles sold last year equating to 17% sales decline. M&HCV segment sales grew by 62% YoY. Passenger cars grew by 52% and exports in December 2014 grew by 40%.
In December 2014, Tata Motors passenger vehicles sales stood at 12,040 units over 9272 units sold in December 2013, equating to 30% sales growth. Growth in passenger vehicles was propelled by strong Zest and Nano sales. Sales of the passenger cars in December 2014 were at 9,956 units, higher by 52% over December 2013. UV sales decline stood at 24% at 2,084 units sold. Cumulative sales of passenger vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal are 92,227 units equating to 11% sales decline.
Tata Motors exports in December 2014 stand at 3,958 units over 2,826 vehicles sold in December 2013, equating to 40% sales growth. Cumulative sales in 2014 from exports for the fiscal stood at 36,626 vehicles equating to marginal sales growth of 1%. Tata Motors is now ready for its first launch in 2015, Tata Bolt.
