Half of Tata Motors cars will have AMT by 2020

It is likely that we could have seen more AMT variants launch already if suppliers could match the accelerating demand. Currently only three cars offer the convenience system in India, Maruti Celerio, Tata Zest diesel and Maruti Alto K10.

Tata Bolt was expected to feature AMT in petrol version, but the company has taken a possible rain check.
Tata Motors has plan to launch 2 to 3 new models every year, which includes future products like Kite hatchback & compact sedan, Pelican small car, Nexon compact crossover, Q501 SUV (5-seater) and Q502 (7-seater), all of which cater to rapidly growing segments in the country. Adding AMT possibly to each one of them will give the brand the kind of rush into showrooms they have been dreaming for.

Apart from focussing on money-making side of auto market, the Indian manufacturer is also keeping fingers in various pies that will lead to breakthroughs in alternate fuel / eco technologies like hybrid, electric, fuel cell and compressed air propulsion, to bring next generation mobility to India with better affordability factor.
