Tata Motors has entered the Bolivian commercial vehicle market, and has signed a distribution agreement with local partners, Bolivian Auto Motors of the Salvatierra Group.
The Group is renowned for distribution of motor vehicles and motorcycles in Bolivia. Tata Motors has launched three commercial vehicles in the Bolivian market – Tata SuperAce Petrol, Tata Xenon Petrol and Tata LPT 613 truck. Vehicles will first be made available in Santa Cruz and soon at La Paz and Cochabamba.
In South America, Tata Motors already sells commercial vehicles in Chile and Ecuador. Rudrarup Maitra, Head (International Business), Commercial Vehicles, Tata Motors expressed delight in entering Bolivia, a fast growing market in Latin America. Johnny Salvatierra, President of Bolivian Auto Motors says Bolivian Auto Motors are glad to partner with Tata Motors.
Speaking about the vehicles, Tata SuperAce uses a 4 Cylinder 1396cc petrol engine, which delivers 85 Hp @ 5500 – 6000 rpm calibrated to a 5-speed gearbox for smooth driving and higher fuel efficiency. Braking is seamless through large brakes with 9-inch vaccum boosters coupled with LCRV (Load Conscious Regulating Valve).
Tata Xenon 4X2 Pick-up is available as a single cab and double cab. Power comes from a 2.1 Litre Multi Point Fuel Injection petrol engine that delivers top speed of 145 kmph and max power of 131HP in the single cab and double cab. Max torque is reported at 195 Nm.
Tata LPT 613 truck is available in 3,800-wheel base in Euro-II configuration with payload capacity up to 4.2 Ton. Power comes from a 697 Turbo Charged Inter-Cooled, 6-cylinder engine calibrated with a 5-Speed GBS 40 Gear.
