Tata Motors has launched a new program to offer their customers an even more efficient car buying program

As the lockdown keeps people confined to their homes, businesses are coming up with innovative strategies to connect with their target audience. Tata Motors appears to be following the same approach, as it has launched a contactless sales platform called ‘Click-to-Drive’.

With this facility, the entire process of buying a car has been shifted online. Customers can buy their preferred Tata car in the comfort of their homes. They can also get the car delivered at their home.

To buy a Tata car, customers just need to visit the ‘Click to Drive’ website. In the next step, they need to choose the car they want to buy. As of now, Tata Motors has five cars in its portfolio – Tiago, the entry level hatchback; Tigor, the entry level sedan; Nexon, the compact SUV; Altroz, the premium hatchback; and Harrier, the mid-size SUV. Video brochures are also provided, which customers can view to know more about the car they are buying.

For Altroz, the company has an additional platform called Imaginator. This brings users close to the real-life experience of visiting a showroom. Users can experience the car in 360° view and explore the interiors as well. They can select colour, features and accessories to see how the final product will look like. Some customization options have also been provided for Altroz. These help in decision making, as customers know exactly what they will be getting.

Once a customer has chosen the vehicle, variant and other preferences, they need to choose their preferred dealer or the one nearest to their location. As of now ‘Click to Drive’ is active across more than 750 Tata Motors outlets across the country. Customers can choose either home delivery of their car or get it from the dealer at the scheduled date.

After placing their order, customers need to pay the booking amount online. Once this is done, the customer will be contacted by Tata Motors call centre executive or a sales consultant from the chosen dealership. In the interactions that follow, the customer will be informed about the next steps in the buying journey.

Tata Motors‘ ‘Click to Drive’ is an end-to-end sales platform that includes various other options for customers. For example, customers can opt for exchange services, available offers, details of price quote and financing for their car purchase. Everything gets done online with communication tools such as email, video calls, and WhatsApp.

With ‘stay home, stay safe’ the only effective solution to fight coronavirus pandemic, we believe that initiatives like ‘Click to Drive’ are a step in the right direction. Automakers will also benefit with such initiatives, as they can keep their sales registers ticking. These businesses have been hit hard by coronavirus and they urgently need to boost sales.
