Tata Motors Group global wholesales up 8% in December 2014
Tata Motors Group along with Jaguar Land Rover reported growth to the tune of 8% in December when sales stood at 85,742 units as compared to sales in the same month of the previous year. However, cumulative wholesales were lower by 5% at 713,530 as compared to the previous fiscal. Tata Motors begins the year with the launch of its all new sporty hatchback in Bolt on 22nd January.
Luxury brand of the Group, Jaguar Land Rover also experienced an increase in sales of 7% during December 2014 with sales at 42,962 units as compared to sales in December 2013, while cumulative wholesales during the fiscal stood at 341,318 units, up 10% as against that of the previous fiscal. During December 2014, Jaguar wholesales were at 6,816 units while cumulative wholesales were at 56,418 units. Wholesales of Land Rover during December 2014 stood at 36,146 units while cumulative wholesales were at 284,900 units
During December 2014, 4% growth was also reported by Tata Motors commercial vehicles and Tata Daewoo range where global wholesales were concerned, which stood at 30,597 units as compared to December 2013. Correspondingly, an 18% drop in cumulative commercial vehicle wholesales for this fiscal was reported when sales stood at 277,215 units over the last fiscal. Sales of passenger vehicles during December 2014 stood at 55,145 units, up 11% over global wholesales in the same month of the previous year while cumulative passenger vehicle wholesales for the fiscal experienced a 4% growth over the last fiscal, to 436,315 units
