Tata Motors June 2015 sales report: Sales grow by 4.4%

As compared to June 2014, sales of Tata Motors reported a marginal increase for June 2015. Last month, Tata Motors sales stood at 40,330 units, including exports. This is an increase of 4.4% as against June 2014 sales when they sold 38,557 units.

The new Tata Nano GenX AMT sales in first month stand at 3,000 units.

In the domestic market, sales of Tata Motors vehicles stood at 35,283 units for June 2015, as against 34,743 units sold in June 2014; which is a marginal increase of about 1.5%.

In the passenger vehicle segment, Tata Motors registered sales of 10,281 units in June 2015 as against 7,911 units sold in June 2014 period. This implies that their sales in the passenger vehicle segment grew by 30%. Thanks to the launch of new Zest sedan (launched in August 2014), Bolt hatchback (launched in January 2015) and the Nano GenX (launched in May 2015).

Further segregating, excluding utility vehicles from this, we realize that sales of their cars (sedans and hatchbacks) have increased by 44% to 8,516 units as against 5,933 units sold in June 2014. On the other hand, sales of their UVs declined by 11% for June 2015 to 1,765 units.

One of the most advanced tippers under the Tata Prima badge, the Prima 3128.K is powered by a 270 hp engine, mated to a 9 speed gearbox.

Commercial vehicle sales declined by 5% to 25,542 units as against 26,832 units sold in June 2014. Their M&HCV sales increased by 18% to 11,450 units; but L&SCV sales declined by 18% to 14,092 units as compared to June 2014 figures.

Tata Motors exports too registered an increase. This is because they have managed to enter newer markets in the past one year. For June 2015, Tata exported 5,047 vehicles as against 3,814 exported in June 2014. This means their exports grew by 32% last month.
