Tata Motors’ May 2023 Offers for Thrifty Buyers- Altroz premium hatchback (up to Rs. 28,000)

Passenger vehicle segment witnessed a YoY decline for the first time in the past eight months. Isuzu (at 16th place with 147 units) was the only one to register positive MoM growth.

To boost sales and help clear existing stock at dealer yards, Tata Motors is offering discounts and benefits to attract prospective buyers. For May 2023, Tata Motors is offering consumer scheme benefits, exchange discounts and corporate discounts. Buyers can benefit by up to Rs. 35,000. Benefits aren’t uniform across the range and vary with variants as well. Let’s take a look.

Decoding Tata Motors’ May 2023 Discounts: Which Cars

For starters, Tata Motors is not offering any benefits and discounts on Nexon and Punch, the company’s highest-selling cars. Instead, Tata is offering highest benefits for Safari and Harrier. Tata’s flagship SUV duo gets Rs. 25,000 exchange benefits and Rs. 10,000 as corporate benefits.

These benefits are applicable across the variant range for both SUVs. Both Harrier and Safari miss out on customer benefit schemes, though. Despite that when offers are stacked up, prospective Safari and Harrier buyers can enjoy up to Rs. 35,000 worth benefits, which is the highest among this lot.

Tata Harrier base XE costs Rs. 14,99,900 and top-spec Safari XZA+ (O) 6S R Red Dark Edition costs Rs. 25,01,500 (both prices ex-sh, Delhi, before benefits). Next in line is Tiago and Tigor. As part of May 2023 discounts, Tata Motors is offering up to Rs. 33,000 benefits on Tigor and up to Rs. 30,000 on Tiago.

Unlike on Safari and Harrier, benefits are not uniform across the variants. Petrol AMT variants and CNG variants of Tigor consumer scheme benefits of Rs. 15,000 and an exchange discount of Rs. 10,000. Manual variants get Rs. 20,000 consumer scheme benefits and Rs. 10,000 exchange discounts. On top, petrol-only variants get Rs. 3,000 corporate benefits. So, Tigor petrol MT variants get up to Rs. 33,000 benefits.

Tiago’s benefits max out at Rs. 30,000. Almost all variants (petrol and petrol+CNG) of Tiago get Rs. 15,000 consumer scheme benefits and Rs. 10,000 exchange discounts. That said, XT, XT Rhythm, XZ+ (petrol-only) and all manual variants of Tiago NRG get a consumer scheme benefit of Rs. 20,000 and a Rs. 10,000 exchange discount. Additionally, CNG variants get Rs. 5,000 corporate benefits as well.

Lastly, we have Tata Altroz which is set to get iCNG variants soon. All variants are eligible for Rs. 3,000 corporate benefits. All petrol DCT (i-Turbo) variants and diesel variants enjoy a higher consumer scheme benefit of Rs. 15,000 and an exchange discount of Rs. 10,000. The latter is the same with petrol MT variants, but consumer scheme benefit is reduced to Rs. 10,000.

These benefits could ease the burden of the recent price hike of up to Rs. 15,000 on multiple Tata Motors vehicles.
