Tata Motors partners with BITS Pilani

Tata Motors and BITS Pilani formed an alliance for development of technical talent at multiple levels in the Organization.

As a part of this new partnership, Tata Motors and Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani (BITS, Pilani) will focus on development of industry ready resources, bringing in latest knowledge and technology and preparation of students for medium and long term competitiveness.

As a part of the 5 year MOU signed between Tata Motors and BITS Pilani, customized Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Technology for Automotive Engineering will be conducted across locations in the country. The courses, thus conducted, will go a long way in not only inculcating world class technical skills in the students but also ensuring skills and techniques prevalent in the automotive industry while guaranteeing engineering programs that meet the requirements of the automotive industry.

This is a first Industry-Academia partnership for Tata Motors with a leading Institution like BITS, Pilani to develop technical talent at multiple levels in the Organisation.

The alliance which are in keeping with the Modi Government’s ‘Make in India’ policy will encourage competition on a global platform. The course will be divided into two parts which includes technical orientation through theoretical sessions besides practical on the job training with all engineering, design, manufacturing and customer support facilities being offered by Tata Motors. Students will work with the company for a period of 6 months on various business projects with a certificate being awarded jointly by Tata Motors and BITS, Pilani on successful completion of the course.
