The Truck Racing Championship will be held on March 23, 2014, at Buddh International Circuit (BIC). Tata Motors management and sponsors were present at the launch announcement alongwith Narain Karthikeyan, a true legend and stalwart of Indian motorsports.
T1 PRIMA TRUCK RACING CHAMPIONSHIP will feature 12 Tata PRIMA trucks built for the purpose. Divided in 6 teams participation from experienced international drivers is planned. Organised by (MMSCI), safety and performance standards being followed are as per British Truck Racing Association (BTRA) guidelines.

Tata Prima 4038.S will compete in the T1 PRIMA TRUCK RACING CHAMPIONSHIP 2014. With max power of 370 BHP @ 2100 RPM and top speed of 110 Km/h, 22 key modifications were made to meet safety and performance needs as per British Truck Racing Association guidelines to make these Prima trucks fit for racing. This includes fuel tank, brake, cooling system, propeller shaft guards, racing seats and safety belts, exhaust, steering wheel, and other changes.
At BIC, on race day there will be two races. The first a qualifier, followed by the main race, seeing a rolling start of big Tata Prima race trucks. 2-time British truck racing champion, Steve Horne will be there. It’s another meaningful step for India to expand motorsports presence. Cummins, WABCO, JK Tyres, Castrol and Accenture are main sponsors, while Tata Steel, Setco Automotive, RSB Group and TRW Steering Systems Ltd. are associate sponsors.
