Tata Motors PV Sales Up 28% In March – Highest Ever FY Performance

TMPV secures 2nd position across Wholesales and Retail sales in H2 FY26

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles has reported strong sales performance for March 2026 as well as the full financial year FY2025-26, registering healthy growth across domestic, export and electric vehicle segments.

In March 2026, Tata Motors sold 66,192 passenger vehicles in the domestic market, marking a 28.24% YoY growth compared to 51,616 units sold in March 2025. On a month-on-month basis, sales also grew by 6.35% over February 2026, when the company had recorded 62,239 units.

Total PV sales, including exports, stood at 66,971 units in March 2026, registering a 29.11% YoY growth over 51,872 units sold last year. Exports saw a sharp rise of 204.30%, increasing to 779 units from 256 units.

Electric vehicle sales continued to grow strongly, with 9,494 units sold in March 2026, up 77.36% from 5,353 units last year. EVs remain a key growth driver for Tata Motors, supported by strong demand and expanding product offerings.

Strong Q4 Performance

For Q4 FY2025-26 (Jan–Mar), Tata Motors recorded total PV sales of 2,01,368 units, marking a strong 36.99% YoY growth compared to 1,46,999 units in Q4 FY2024-25. Domestic sales during the quarter stood at 1,98,743 units, up 36.01% from 1,46,127 units last year.

Exports increased significantly to 2,625 units from 872 units, reflecting a growth of over 200%. EV sales for the quarter stood at 26,931 units, registering a 68.99% YoY growth compared to 15,936 units last year.

FY2025-26 Sales Performance

Tata Motors closed FY2025-26 with its highest-ever annual sales of 6,41,587 passenger vehicles, registering a 15.34% YoY growth over 5,56,263 units sold in FY2024-25. Domestic sales contributed 6,31,387 units, up 14.05% from 5,53,585 units last year.

Exports saw robust growth of 280.88%, increasing to 10,200 units from 2,678 units. EV sales for the full year stood at 92,120 units, marking a strong 43.32% YoY growth compared to 64,276 units in FY2024-25.

Tata Motors’ growth has been driven by strong demand across its SUV portfolio, with models like Nexon and Punch emerging as top-selling vehicles. The company also reported strong traction for its recent launches including Sierra, updated Punch and petrol versions of Harrier and Safari. With continued focus on SUVs, CNG and EVs, along with a robust product pipeline, Tata Motors is expected to sustain its growth momentum into FY2026-27.
