Tata Nano AMT will be powered by the same 624cc petrol engine seen on board the current range of Nano on offer. This engine is expected to be refined, with power output remaining unchanged at 38 PS power and 51 Nm peak torque.
The model on test also shows new honeycomb grille and new front bumper design as seen on board Nano Twist Active which was on display at 2014 Auto Expo in Greater Noida. Higher on fuel efficiency will be one of its highlight, as it is expected that the Nano AMT will become India’s most fuel efficient car. Apart from the new bumpers on the outside, interiors will largely remain unchanged with highlight being a new gear knob with chrome finish. Also expect the AMT variant to come with openable boot.
Tata Nano AMT could be priced at around INR 25,000-INR 30,000 more than the Twist variant with an expected launch later this year or early next year. With the launch of Tata Nano Twist with power steering and Nano CNG, it is evident that Tata Motors is going all out to ensure increased sales of Nano in the future.
