Tata Nano Automatic, the carefully upgraded version of India’s most affordable car, will soon be launched at an expected price of under Rs. 3.0 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the fully loaded version with AMT.
Improvements in Tata Nano GenX are both cosmetic and mechanical. As for the latter, prominent examples are offer of Automated Manual Transmission and rear hatch door that can be opened to access the 110 litre boot section behind the rear seats. The openable tail gate will be a standard feature regardless of variant levels in Tata GenX Nano. Further, older 15 litre fuel tank will be replaced with larger 24 litre can, to help those who don’t like to visit the fuel station more often.
On styling front, new Nano gets redesigned front and rear bumpers with ‘smiley’ cutouts, new round fog lamps flanking the cutout on front apron, smoked headlamp assemblies, black front grille accent, redesigned rear windshield and new body colour labelled Sangria Red.
New Tata Nano AMT is claimed to deliver 21.9 kmpl mileage as per ARAI standard tests. We are in Pune to test drive the new Nano. We will publish full detail, review, photos and video on 1st May.
