New Tata Nano, referred to as GenX Nano by the company, is officially launched in India. Priced from Rs 1.99 lakhs for the manual 4 speed variant and Rs 2.69 lakhs for the AMT 5 speed variant, deliveries of new Tata Nano commence from today.

New Tata Nano receives power steering, openable boot with 110 litre capacity (94 litre for AMT variant), and a fuel tank with 24 liter capacity as against 15 liters as seen on its earlier counterpart. With these updates and 21 new additions such as Bluetooth, AUX and USB connectivity, stronger body, improved noise vibrations and improved fit and finish, the launch of Nano GenX is a make or break moment for the company.
2015 Tata Nano Automatic AMT is the most affordable automatic car which will take on entry level hatchbacks such as Maruti Suzuki Alto and Hyundai Eon. GenX has been developed following feedback from 1,200 Nano users and 1,500 users of other competing hatchbacks and comes in with smarter looks, stronger body and a host of new functions to attract buyers in this segment.
Tata Nano AMT GenX also receives the creep function wherein the vehicle can move forward on its own if foot is released from the accelerator or brake pedal. This function comes to the rescue in constricting city traffic situations while in Sports mode, a surge of power is experienced at the press of a button. Being offered in a combination of 21 exterior and interior colour options, Tata Nano GenX boasts of a flat bed rear seat and a more powerful air conditioner. It continues to be powered by the same 624cc twin cylinder petrol engine offering 38 PS power and 51 Nm torque and offered in both manual and AMT variants. The manual variant offers fuel efficiency of 23.90 kmpl while the AMT variant is good for 21.9 kmpl.

Tata Motors has opened bookings for the new GenX hatchback at INR 5,000, while those buyers exchanging their cars with the new GenX will be offered a discount of INR 20,000. Apart from this, the old Nano Twist is now available at a discounted rate of just Rs 1.66 lakhs at select showrooms till stocks last.
