According to the latest market survey carried out by TNS Global, Tata Nano scores the least when it comes to customer satisfaction. The survey stated, “The customer expectations even at the bottom end are rising. The owners of Tata Nano expect more in terms of design and Maruti 800 owners expect better servicing as the years go by.”
Tata Nano scored only 70 points in the survey, while its closest competitor and India’s highest selling car Maruti Alto scored 91 points. Coming to the premium segment, customers in North India are less satisfied with their cars than the one’s in other parts of India. This is mainly due to the below par servicing standards in North India.
TNS Global stated, “At the national level, the customers in the relatively larger cities are more satisfied than those in the smaller cities. This may be a reflection of the growing expectations in the smaller cities. The manufacturers will do well to understand those.”
Maruti Suzuki A-Star and Zen Estillo scored the highest in compact car segment, while the upper premium segment saw VW Polo and Maruti Swift sharing the top spot. Swift DZire won the entry level mid-sized sedan category, while Toyoto Corolla Altis won the premium mid-sized sedan category.
VW Passat took the top spot in entry level luxury sedan category while Honda CR-V topped the premium SUV category. Mahindra Scorpio and Toyota Innova won entry level SUV and MUV category respectively.
Mr Pradeep Saxena, Director, TNS Global, said, “In a year of high growth and long queues at the automotive dealerships, auto manufacturers maintained their poise and managed their processes to keep their customers satisfied.”
This survey included 9300 car owners with 56 models.
